In 1988, Jack Martinez and his three brothers hauled authentic New Mexico chiles up to Denver and began roasting at the side of the road, pioneering what has now become an annual tradition throughout Denver. Back then they were called the Chile Brothers. Others began bringing chiles up from New Mexico, and in 1994, Jack bought the restaurant that now wins awards for green chili and great New Mexico-style cooking.
While you wait for your chiles to roast, order one of their famous $2 breakfast burritos or the award-winning green chili.
