A totally decadent, lucious and easy to make version of bread pudding, made with Kings Hawaiian bread
- 6 cups of King's Hawaiian bread or rolls torn into bite-sized pieces
- 5 eggs, separated
- 2 cups whole milk
- 1 14 oz can sweetened condensed milk
- 1 12 oz can evaporated milk
- 1 tbsp vanilla extract
- 4 oz cream cheese
- 1½ cups sugar
- 1 cup apricot preserves
- Blend egg yolks, milks, sugar, and vanilla
- Beat cream cheese with ½ cup of above mixture and ¼ cup sugar in a separate bowl.
- In a third bowl, with a mixer and clean beaters, beat egg whites to a soft peak, gradually adding ¼ cup sugar.
- Add the bread into the milk mixture and let sit for 5 minutes.
- Blend whipped egg whites into the milk / bread mixture and pour into greased crockpot.
- Dot with cream cheese and apricot preserves and gently swirl with a knife.
- Cook on low for 3½ hours.
