Albert’s Green Chile Hummus

2013 1st place appetizer - Albert's Green Chile Hummus


First Place Winner, Appetizers at the 2013 Denver Chili Fest. This recipe from Stephen Albert is simple to make and really, really good. This is guaranteed to be a hit at any party.

Serve with tortilla chips, veggies, pita chips, whatever.

Albert's Green Chile Hummus

Simple to make, very flavorful with the right amount of heat - this is an ideal dip for a game day party or any get together.
Recipe type: Appetizer
Serves: 2½ cups
  • 2 14 oz cans of garbanzo beans
  • 3 Tbsp Tahini
  • 2 Large cloves of garlic
  • 2 Lemons juice only
  • 1.5 tsp salt (or to taste)
  • 8 Pueblo hot green chili’s peeled and seeded (about ¾ cup)
  1. Combine first 5 ingredients in food processor and blend until smooth.
  2. Finely hand chop the green chili’s and mix by hand into the hummus.
  3. Serve as dip with corn chips.
Great recipe - makes a good base to experiment with for variations.
