This chunky guacamole has an interesting combination of flavors. Sure, most people would serve it with tortilla chips, but you might also serve it on top of a salad or as a side, like a relish.
You can substitute any hot sauce you want for the Cholula; a chipotle hot sauce might be interesting.
Jicama Cotija Guacamole

Ingredients
- 2 tbsp Trader Joe's Orange Muscat Champagne Vinegar
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 2 tbsp diced mild green chiles
- ¼ tsp mustard powder
- ¼ tsp Kosher salt
- ⅛ tsp freshly ground pepper
- ½ tsp cumin
- ¼ tsp Cholula hot sauce
- 1 clove garlic, pressed
- ½ cup chopped tomato
- ¼ cup diced red onion
- ¼ cup peeled diced jicama
- 2 avocados, peeled and diced
- ¼ cup crumbled Cotija cheese
Instructions
- Set aside about a tbsp each of tomato, avocado and cheese for garnish.
- Dump the first 9 ingredients (up to and including garlic) and puree.
- Mix the tomato, onion, jicama, avocado, and Cotija cheese in a bowl. Pour the pureed dressing on and blend.
- Serve in a bowl and garnish with remaining tomato and Cotija cheese. Accompany with tortilla chips.
